1) I’m not good enough

But perfection is an illusion. It’s not achievable, and it’s not a prerequisite for love or acceptance.

The moment of realization came when a dear friend told me, “You don’t have to be perfect to be loved. You’re loved because you’re you.”

Breaking free from this belief was liberating. I learned to embrace my imperfections and realized that they make me who I am – unique and human.

3) Success is about making lots of money

Many of us are taught from a young age that success equates to earning a high income. This belief can lead to a relentless pursuit of money, often at the expense of other areas of life.

However, a study conducted by Princeton University found that once people earn about $75,000 a year, any additional income doesn’t significantly impact their day-to-day happiness.

This suggests that while money is important for meeting our basic needs, it doesn’t necessarily bring happiness or satisfaction in life.

True success extends beyond financial wealth and includes aspects such as health, relationships, and personal growth. Shifting our belief about success can help us focus on what truly matters in life, leading to a more satisfying and fulfilling existence.

4) Failure is the end of the world

We’ve all been there. A setback or a failure makes us feel like our world is falling apart. We wrap our self-worth around the idea of success, and when we don’t achieve it, we believe it’s the end.

But failure doesn’t define you. In fact, it is an essential part of growth and learning. Every setback carries a lesson that can help you improve and make better decisions in the future.

Think about Thomas Edison. He reportedly failed 1,000 times before he finally invented the light bulb. Imagine if he had given up at the first sign of failure.
