9 little-known body language signs that someone is genuinely attracted to you

Figuring out if someone is genuinely attracted to you can often feel like trying to solve a complex puzzle. It’s not always about the words they say, but more about the non-verbal cues they give off.

Body language plays a critical part in how we communicate our feelings, even when we’re trying our best to hide them. And let’s face it, when it comes to attraction, most of us are pretty good at keeping our cards close to our chest.

Luckily, there are little-known body language signs that can give the game away. These are subtle hints that someone may be more into you than they’re letting on.

In this article, I’m going to reveal nine of these signs that could indicate someone is genuinely attracted to you. And trust me, once you know what to look for, you’ll start seeing them everywhere.

1) Eye contact

They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, and when it comes to attraction, this couldn’t be more accurate.

We all know that maintaining eye contact is a basic principle of effective communication. But did you know it can also be a telltale sign of genuine attraction?

When someone is attracted to you, they’re more likely to maintain eye contact for longer periods. It’s as if they’re trying to connect on a deeper level, beyond just casual conversation.

But be careful not to confuse this with someone who simply has good manners or excellent conversational skills. The key here is to look for prolonged eye contact, especially in moments of silence.

If you notice someone holding your gaze even when there’s no conversation going on, it could be a clear sign that they’re genuinely attracted to you. And trust me, once you start paying attention, these glances will be hard to miss!

2) They mirror your movements

Now, this is one I’ve personally experienced and let me tell you, it’s intriguing when you spot it.

Mirroring is a subconscious act where a person imitates the physical mannerisms of the person they’re attracted to. It’s an instinctual way we try to show empathy and understanding.

Once I was at a coffee shop with this guy I was just getting to know. I noticed that every time I would reach for my cup or cross my legs, he would do the same a few moments later. It was as if we were in sync.

I couldn’t help but wonder if he was subconsciously mirroring my movements because he was genuinely attracted to me. And guess what? He was!

If you notice someone mirroring your actions — be it sipping coffee at the same time or adopting similar body language — there’s a good chance they might be genuinely attracted to you. Keep an eye out for it!

3) They touch their face or neck

When someone is attracted to you, they may touch their face or neck during the conversation. This is because these areas have a high concentration of nerve endings and blood vessels, which can become more sensitive when a person is excited or aroused.

Touching the face or neck can be a subconscious reaction to these feelings. It’s like the body’s way of dealing with the rush of excitement and nerves that come with being around someone you’re attracted to.

If you notice someone repeatedly touching their face or neck while talking to you, it could be a sign that they’re genuinely attracted to you. It’s one of those subtle cues that can easily go unnoticed, but once you know about it, it’s pretty hard to ignore!

4) Their feet point towards you

Have you ever paid attention to where someone’s feet are pointing during a conversation? It might seem like a strange thing to focus on but it can actually reveal a lot about their feelings.

We tend to point our feet towards the person we’re most interested in or attracted to. It’s a subconscious way of showing where our attention is directed.

If you’re in a room full of people, but the person you’re talking to has their feet pointed directly at you, it’s a good sign they’re genuinely attracted to you.

This little-known body language sign can be a game-changer in deciphering someone’s true feelings. So next time, don’t just focus on the eyes or the smile, take a glance at their feet too!

5) They lean in when you speak

There’s a certain intimacy that comes with proximity, and when someone constantly leans in when you’re speaking, it could be a sign that they’re attracted to you.

Leaning in is a non-verbal way of showing interest and engagement. It’s like they’re saying, “I want to be close, I want to hear every word you say.”

Now, of course, this doesn’t mean that everyone who leans in is attracted to you. Sometimes, people lean in simply because they can’t hear well.

But if you notice this behavior along with other signs on this list, there’s a good chance they’re genuinely attracted to you. So the next time you’re having a conversation with someone, pay attention to how much they lean in – it might just reveal more than their words do!

6) Their smile reaches their eyes

You’ve heard of a genuine smile, right? It’s one of those smiles that lights up a room and makes you feel warm inside. But what sets it apart from a polite, routine smile? The answer lies in the eyes.

When someone smiles genuinely, also known as a Duchenne smile, it’s not just the mouth that moves. The muscles around the eyes contract too, creating ‘crow’s feet’ or wrinkles at the corners.

Now, this is where it gets heartfelt. When someone is genuinely attracted to you, their smiles will often be more authentic and radiant. It’s like their happiness can’t be contained and it reflects in their eyes.

If you notice a smile that seems to reach someone’s eyes every time they look at you, it’s likely they’re genuinely attracted to you. And let me tell you, there’s nothing quite as heartwarming as realizing someone likes you just as much as you like them!

7) They tease you playfully

Growing up, I was always the quiet one in my circle of friends. I was reserved, and it was hard for me to express my feelings openly. So when I developed a crush on my best friend, I had no idea how to let him know.

Interestingly, I found myself teasing him more often than others. It was my way of showing that I cared – a playful nudge here, a light-hearted joke there.

You see, when someone is attracted to you, they might resort to playful teasing as a way to connect. It’s a lighthearted approach that can help ease the tension and foster a stronger bond.

So if you find someone constantly teasing you in a friendly way, it could be their unique method of expressing attraction. And who knows? Maybe they’re also the quiet one in their group, trying to express their feelings just like I did.

8) They remember small details about you

When someone is genuinely attracted to you, they’re not just interested in the big things like your job or your favorite music. They’re also fascinated by the small, seemingly unimportant details about you.

Maybe it’s how you prefer your coffee or that funny story you once told them about your childhood pet. These details might seem insignificant to others, but to someone who’s attracted to you, they’re intriguing pieces of the puzzle that is you.

If you’re talking to someone who seems to remember and bring up these little details from previous conversations, it’s a good sign they’re genuinely attracted to you. It shows that they value your interactions and are truly interested in getting to know you better.

9) They make time for you

At the end of the day, the most telling sign of genuine attraction is whether someone makes time for you. It’s not about grand gestures or expensive gifts. It’s about them wanting to spend their precious time with you.

If someone rearranges their schedule to meet you, stays up late to talk to you, or simply makes an effort to see you even when they’re busy, it’s a strong indication that they’re genuinely attracted to you.

Time is one of the most valuable things a person can give. So if they’re willingly sharing it with you, it speaks volumes about their feelings.
