Apparently healthcare professionals will still be high in demand but other professionals such as accountants and software developers will be needed too.

The below data are taken from the Bureau of Labor statistics.

  1. Personal Care Aides: A personal care aide generally assists people with diseases or physical disabilities to do their normal daily activities. They work in different environments such as hospitals, nursing homes or private residences.
    • No formal educational degree is required.
    • 458,100 predicted job openings by 2024
    • $20,440 median annual wage
  2. Registered Nurses: A registered nurse assists doctors in providing care to patients. They may have different roles such as keeping patient records, administering medication or monitoring patient progress.
    • Bachelor’s degree is required.
    • 439,300 predicted job openings by 2024
    • $66,640 median annual wage
  3. Retail Salespersons: They help you find and pick products throughout the store. They also use cash registers and process transactions or refunds.
    • No formal educational degree is required.
    • 314,200 predicted job openings by 2024
    • $21,390 median annual wage
  4. Customer Service Representatives: They help customers on behalf of the company. They give information about products, assist taking orders, solve problems or take complaints.
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 252,900 predicted job openings by 2024
    • $31,200 median annual wage
  5. Restaurant Cooks: They prepare and cook the food in a restaurant.
    • No formal educational degree is required.
    • 158,900 predicted job openings by 2024
    • $22,490 median annual wage
  6. General and Operations Managers: They manage the operations of a company as well as direct and coordinate the staff.
    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree is required. In some industries a Master’s degree is preferred.
    • 151,100 predicted job openings by 2024
    • $97,270 median annual wage
  7. Accountants and Auditors: They prepare and examine financial records. They also make sure all financials are in compliant with the government requirements and standards.
    • Bachelor’s degree is required. A CPA certification is preferred.
    • 142,400 predicted job openings by 2024
    • $65,940 median annual wage
  8. Software Developers: Software developers create computer programs. They develop web sites, mobile apps or more specialized software programs.
    • Bachelor’s degree is required.
    • 135,300 predicted job openings by 2024
    • $95,510 median annual wage
