"Emerging Global Talents"

Award season kicks off with a bang as a global creative network presents the NOVA Awards for Upcoming Creatives, a partnership with Central Saint Martins, London’s prestigious art institution.

The goal? To celebrate and expose the talents of the world’s most innovative and visionary aspiring designers, artists, and creators. Expect an awesome display of groundbreaking work that could provide up-and-comers with wide exposure and career-boosting opportunities.

Out of an impressive pool of 1,300 graduates, six exemplary talents will be recognized and rewarded for their innovative thinking and unique creativity. Eager to be more inclusive, an extra award, the YourNOVA People’s Choice, is open to the public vote.

Take note of Anqi Liu, a fashion communications student, whose work Connection Failed, is a fitting embodiment of the purpose of the NOVA Awards. Liu depicts scenes of disconnection from reality using character abstraction and composition; a brilliant commentary on our digitally-driven society.

Art student, Aarony Bailey, is another nominee to watch. In his series, Intimate Pages, he explores mental health, connections, and addiction in young adults using photography combined with poetry.

Highlighting talents at NOVA Awards ceremony

Bailey challenges racial stereotypes and gracefully portrays Black femininity in a refreshing perspective.

Jane Zheng, another fashion communications student, showcases Brit lives in the documentary Steam Steam Day Up!. The film reveals the life of Tony Chung, a second-generation British-Chinese dry cleaner, and explores the complexities of his immigrant experience in Britain.

Izzy McCormac, a fashion student, uses her series I Am Really A Kite to breathe life to mundane settings through outfits made from recycled materials. Her designs tell the story of forgotten waste turned wearable art, asserting her commitment to eco-conscious creativity.

All things considered, the NOVA Awards is more than an event, it champions a dialogue into the future of creativity. The current lineup of Aarony Bailey, Anqi Liu, Bhavna Madan Mohan, Christopher Bellamy, and Debarati Das, provide a compelling saga of creativity and innovation.

By recognizing and promoting the talents and vision of these aspirants, NOVA Awards is catalyzing significant influence in the art and design realm. It’s a highly anticipated event and a pivotal point in these artists’ lives which no one with an interest in creativity should miss.
