Big news for local retail powerhouse My Floors Kitchen & Bath Remodeling! Founder Gary Frankhouse, Sr. is heading off into the sunset of retirement, leaving the business in the hands of his sons, Gary Jr. and Steve Frankhouse. Known formerly as Prints & Paints, it’s a family tradition that’s set to continue in the home improvement industry.
The company had humble beginnings back in 1977, when Gary Sr. and his wife, Sandy, turned an abandoned laundromat into a booming business. Armed with knowledge, experience, and a commitment to excellence, they saw the company rise to immense heights. Their core values of honesty, hard work, and customer satisfaction remain embedded in the fabric of the company today.
Fast forward to the present day, the company operates from a 14,000-square-foot facility and rakes in more than $5 million annually. It continues to maintain high-quality standards, employing dedicated staff and making use of state-of-the-art equipment. Customers come from near and far for their personalized service and diverse product offerings, reinforcing the company’s reputation and fostering future growth.
The founders faced plenty of challenges while growing their business. Yet, they never wavered in their commitment, expanding their product offering to include items like window fittings and carpets. Despite obstacles, these additions diversified the product portfolio and drew in more customers, fueling the company’s growth and reach.
The company underwent a major rebranding in 1997, changing names to Prints & Paints Floor Covering Co, and eventually to what we know today – My Floors Kitchen & Bath Remodeling. New identity in hand, they specialized in a wide range of floor coverings and employed a team of skilled interior designers and installers. Through these efforts, the company has earned a reputation for quality, value, and outstanding customer service.
After concluding their education, both sons plunged into the family business. Gary earned his CPA from Miami University, while Steve graduated with a marketing degree from The Ohio State University. Their customer-centric approach, instilled by their father and his military background, is expected to be the driving force of the company going forward.
As we bid farewell to Gary Sr. on March 21st during the grand opening of the renovated showroom, we’re also welcoming a new era under the leadership of his sons, Gary Jr. and Mike. They’re eager to uphold their father’s legacy, infusing traditional and modern business practices to reach a broader audience. It’s an exciting time indeed!
