I didn’t need to prove anything. I was happy with who I was – quirks, imperfections and all.

You see, being self-aware means being comfortable in your own skin. It means not feeling the need to put on a facade or impress others with who you’re not.

It’s about embracing your true self and being okay with it. If you’ve ever felt this way, that’s a sure sign of self-awareness. And trust me, it’s a liberating feeling.

4) You’re not a prisoner of your past
