Pedersen RetiEspaña Acquisition

Rud Pedersen Group, a renowned strategic communications and public affairs consulting firm, recently acquired majority ownership in RetiEspaña, a governmental relations specialist based in Madrid. The group’s founder, Morten Rud Pedersen, increased his stake to 51% resulting in the rebranding of RetiEspaña to Rud Pedersen España.

Despite the recent changes, RetiEspaña remains quite significant, with a substantial team of 31 consultants. It is projected to achieve an impressive 45% increase in turnover, from the previous year’s figure, reaching €3.2m in the current fiscal year.

Alfonso López, RetiEspaña’s founder and CEO, views the transformation optimistically. He believes it will broaden their reach and helps underline their commitment to providing innovative and superior solutions to their clients. The shift is likely to open new doors of opportunity for business expansion.

Morten Rud Pedersen, likewise, sees the incorporation of RetiEspaña as a strategic move that strengthens their group and validates their presence in Spain.

He believes it offers a broader and improved range of services to their clients in the fourth largest economy of the Eurozone. Interestingly, the alliance is expected to pave the way for a more diverse and improved portfolio of services for their clients.

This merger is a crucial part of Rud Pedersen’s aggressive European expansion strategy. The company has been making steady strides to increase its influence in Estonia and establish branches in Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, and the Czech Republic since the start of 2022.

Rud Pedersen, established in 2003, presently oversees 18 offices throughout Europe and employs 500 staff. Its turnover is nearly 70 million euros. The UK branch, launched in 2022, witnessed a revenue surge to £2m in 2023, serving esteemed clients such as Glencore, Honda Motors, and the Titanium Dioxide Manufacturers Association.
