Andy Weitz joins PGA TOUR as new CMO

The PGA TOUR welcomes Andy Weitz as the new Chief Marketing & Communications Officer and Executive Vice President of Investor Relations. With a 20-year background in public affairs and marketing, including a tenure as Chief Marketing Officer at Aon, Weitz’s experience and industry insight is set to propel the PGA TOUR’s visibility and global expansion.

PGA TOUR Commissioner, Jay Monahan, expressed his confidence in Weitz’s capabilities, declaring the new officer’s strategic insight to be a game-changer in enhancing the TOUR’s global footprint. Monahan believes that Weitz’s expertise will amplify the PGA TOUR’s international influence and reputation.

Weitz will also manage investor relations for PGA TOUR, Inc. portfolio, including PGA TOUR Enterprises, a new company in the portfolio. His work will involve managing investor interactions, providing updated information regarding strategy and financial performance, and developing effective communication strategies.

PGA TOUR Enterprises, backed by $1.5 billion (potentially up to $3 billion) from the Strategic Sports Group (SSG), signifies an exciting new direction for the company.

Weitz’s influence on PGA TOUR’s global expansion

The infusion of funds will be instrumental in improving fan, player, tournament, and sponsor experiences, launching innovative programs like the Player Equity Program that rewards players for growing the sport, and upgrading the technology infrastructure of PGA TOUR.

Joe Gorder, Chairman of the Board at PGA TOUR Enterprises, regards these developments as major progress, and a significant step towards strengthening their established position in the sports industry.
