I’ve been freelancing as a digital marketing consultant for over 12 years, and my last lead said she found me through Google. I responded, “That means that what I do works!”

Search engine optimization (SEO) begins with a well-optimized website and continues by blogging at least once a week. It increases the chance that you’ll come up in Google when someone is searching for what you have to offer.

If you don’t blog regularly, Google will think your website is stagnant. It looks for fresh, relevant, helpful content written for the human reader in natural language—in other words, not written solely by AI. So, write for your target audience but with the search engine in mind.

Furthermore, blogging regularly on your website not only tells Google that you have the E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authority and Trustworthiness) that they look for, but it shows potential clients that you know what you’re talking about. You want to brand yourself as an expert in your field.

Then reshare each blog post on LinkedIn, but put a link at the bottom to the original article on your website to keep that SEO authority. By the way, make sure that your personal LinkedIn profile is up to date with samples of your work. You should also have a well-branded business profile page on LinkedIn on which you can share your blog posts and other related industry content.
